Annual Spelling Bee

Annually, the Kiwanis Club of Lombard conducts a Spelling Bee for students Grades 3-8 who are enrolled in a Lombard school or living in the Lombard area. There is no cost to participate. The bee features words from the dictionary so no spelling lists are provided. The winner of each grade level receives both a trophy and $50 cash Second-place winners receive $25. The grand prize is $100 for the overall winner and $50 for the runner-up.

Scholarships For Seniors

Our Scholarship Chair introduces the winners to club members each year by reading a short synopsis of their achievements and future aspirations.

Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Lombard accepts scholarship applications from high school seniors. Selection is based primarily on demonstrated leadership abilities, commitment to service, and promise as future community leaders.

Time For Tots

Every Spring, the Lombard Park District’s Take Time for Tots Day is jam-packed with activities for tots, preschoolers to age 8. Tots make arts and crafts, jump in the bounce house, ride a pony, sing songs, play music, and more. Our club participates with a variety of projects like fingerprinting and ID kits, making kites, and coloring fun.
