Kiwanis is available for people of all levels from grammar school through adulthood and even provided opportunities for individuals with special needs.
K–Kids is a service club for students in elementary school. It’s led by elementary students just like you and teaches the value of helping others by taking part in community service projects.
It includes three programs for elementary school students between the ages of 6 and 12. In each, the lessons of leadership and self-development are introduced through learning to plan, setting goals, working with others, and celebrating successes.
Builders Club is the largest service organization for middle school and junior high students, with more than 45,000 members worldwide. It is a student-led community service organization that operates under school regulations and draws its members from the student body.
Builders Club is structured on the local club level but is supported by the Kiwanis International Office in Indianapolis, Indiana, which provides guidelines, programs, and opportunities to relate to teenagers from countries worldwide.
Members learn to work together and develop servant-leaders skills as they serve their school and community. In partnership with UNICEF and March of Dimes, the clubs are able to expand their outreach to babies and children of the world.
Key Club is a growing organization with a global reach. With 1000s of clubs in more than 38 countries, the impact of Key Club members can be felt all over the world.
High school student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing, and organizing food drives. They also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects. and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district, and international levels.
Circle K International (CKI) is the premier collegiate and university community service, leadership development, and friendship organization in the world.
Circle K clubs are organized and sponsored by a Kiwanis club on a college or university campus. “CKI” is a self-governing organization and elects its own officers, conducts its own meetings, and determines its own service activities. CKI blends community service and leadership training with the opportunity to meet other college students around the world.
Aktion Club is the only service club for adults with disabilities, with more than 12,000 members worldwide.
Aktion Clubs draw members from various organizations that support individuals with disabilities, as well as other community programs. Aktion clubs can also be established at churches, libraries, YMCAs, lodges, or similar facilities. A Kiwanis club, composed of like-minded, service-oriented people from the community, serves as the club’s sponsor.
Community Clubs – Each community has different needs, and Kiwanis empowers members to pursue creative ways to serve the needs of children, such as fighting hunger, improving literacy, and offering guidance. Kiwanis clubs host nearly 150,000 service projects each year.
Study after study shows that volunteering with an organization like Kiwanis does more than make people feel good. Volunteering enhances social networks, improves mental health, and contributes to higher levels of happiness, self-esteem, self-worth, and life satisfaction.
